Sustanon 100 mg Vs 250 mg – Uses, Dosage, Benefits, and Side Effects
Sustanon is an Anabolic Androgenic steroid, which is actually a blend of different forms of testosterone. Sustanon is actually used for patients with low testosterone levels means their bodies can’t produce enough natural testosterone.
Sustanon is basically available in the market in two forms 100 mg and 250 mg.
100 mg is normally used for medical purposes and is prescribed by doctors.
250 mg is usually used for bodybuilding purposes.
Now, the reason why 100 mg is not used for bodybuilding purposes is because of the esters present in it.
To better understand this thing we have to know the esters that are being present in both the Compound.
Sustanon 100 mg [1 ml]
- Testosterone Propionate – 20 mg
- Testosterone Phynlpropionate – 40 mg
- Testosterone Isocaproate – 40 mg
Sustanon 250 mg [1 ml]
- Testosterone Propionate – 30 mg
- Testosterone Phynlpropionate – 60 mg
- Testosterone Isocaproate – 60 mg
- Testosterone Decanoate – 100 mg
Now you can see the difference between 100 mg and 250 mg of Sustanon.
Between these two compounds, there is only two small difference as we can see till now.
First is their different esters content ( 3 esters in 100 mg and 4 esters in 250 mg)
Second is the different powers of the esters present in two of them.
Now, if this is the only difference then why 100 mg is not used for bodybuilding purposes?
Here comes an important factor called the half-life of any drug.
Now, what is the half-life of any drug?
The half-life of any drug is the amount of time for which the drug remains fully active in our system and then half of its amount is being eliminated for our body.
It depends on our body, how the internal system process that particular drug and eliminates it after a certain time period.
The half-life of any drug can be from few hours to several days or even months.
Now, to make you better understand this half-life of a drug, let’s take an example [PARACETAMOL].
Suppose we take one tablet of paracetamol which is 500 mg and its half-life is about 4 hours.
So after taking paracetamol it will be processed in our body and remain fully active in our system for about 4 hours and after that 250 mg (half the total amount) will get eliminated from our body.
That means the drug is present in our body but it will not work effectively. So we have to take a new dose.
So, Sustanon 100 mg has a half-life period of a maximum of 4 to 5 days and 250 mg has a half-life of 10 to 12 days.
The reason 250 mg has a long half-life period is because of Testosterone Decanoate. It stays in our system for a long time and keeps our blood testosterone level high.
Short-chain ester has one benefit that it kicks in our system quickly and spikes blood testosterone levels rapidly.
But 80% of people avoid these short-chain esters as they have short-half life they need to be taken frequently and they also high aromatization side-effects.
